Accountability

As I read John Maxwell’s blog post today, I found this thought interesting. Simple, true and applicable.

“In general, we most often need accountability in our areas of weakness. We’re fine when it comes to our strengths. We like working in our strengths. We are most likely to follow through in our areas of strength. People expect that of us. However, when it comes to our weaknesses, we need to allow others to ask us questions, to challenge us. If we don’t, we are prone to get off track.” – John Maxwell

Crowded Bus

Author: john.mickey

Imagine being on a bus completely packed with folks and you are the only foreigners on board. Well that was me this afternoon…

When I got on I asked the bus driver if he went to the mall, and he motioned ‘yes.’ So, as we went on, more and more people got on the bus till there wasn’t even room to stand. Then at one particular stop the driver got out of his seat and yell to us, “This is the stop for the mall (in perfect English),” completely calling us out. As our faces turned a bright shade of red we stepped off the bus…. I am sure there will be many more embarrassing moments to come. :)
